“Thanks so much for coming. I’m nervous. You think Josiah will get him here?” Layla asked me pacing the floor. Marcy and I had been trying to calm her down for the last five minutes.

I had no idea if Josiah could handle the task of getting Dew here. The last time the two of us spoke was the day of Josia’s would be birthday. I stayed with Layla for the rest of my vacation but he didn’t come around. Neither of us reached out to the other, not that I would know being my phone still had him on block. He called Layla’s phone and said they were walking in. I saw him come in and had to close my legs tight. Josiah looked so damn good I wanted to jump in his arms and ride his dick out in the open. Dew stepped in and stared at Layla. You could see the love in his eyes for her and vice versa. She said they hadn’t seen each other since that day either and that was a month ago.

“All this is still yours when you want it.” Josiah whispered in my ear and goose bumps popped up on my body.

“Huh?”

“I saw the lust in your eyes when you looked at me. Trust me baby, I want you just as bad.” He kissed me on the cheek and walked away.

“What’s going on Layla?” Dew asked her and the man performing the ceremony came out and told Layla she could say what’s on her mind.

“Turner, I’m sorry Josiah brought you here under false pretenses but I doubt you would have come if I asked.” She had been asking him to have lunch and dinner with her and he turned her down every time. He stood there with his arms folded and a smirk on his face. Dew was getting a kick out of watching her sweat.

“So what’s this about then?”

“Turner, I’m sorry about not trusting you. I love you so much and your absence made me realize that you’re the only man for me. I had more than enough time to think about how I treated you and you were right. I didn’t appreciate you, therefore, pushing you away.”

“Keep going.”

“Baby, I don’t want to leave here without having your last name. I’m standing here right now asking you to be my husband. I promise to cater and appreciate you better than before. If you need a back massage or your feet rubbed as your wife I’ll do all that and more. I only want to make things right between us and if you say yes we’ll be married right away.” Layla wiped her tears away as he stood there not saying anything.

“Layla, I’m not sure we can be fixed. I mean you think every time I leave the house I’m cheating and.”

“I’ll stop Turner. I swear baby please don’t leave me.” She grabbed his hand and put the ring on his finger. It was so many diamonds on his it was ridiculous but the engagement ring he got her was huge too.
